Its Sunday night and dinner time is approaching. I’m going through all the possible dinner options in my head and then Bilal suddenly asks me if he should make dinner. I do so much to contain my excitement and reply with a ‘Sure’ and a contained smile. He goes to buy some fresh salmon and begins to prepare us a scrumptious dinner. Best situation ever, right? I KNOW!
Because my dad didn’t cook I had no such expectations, and so for me it comes as an even bigger bonus that my husband can find his way around the kitchen!
A few weekends ago, this was us as he prepared our dinner and I took photos and listened to music as Anya twirled around and told us she wanted to show us another one of her ‘performances’.
On days like these, living simple random moments, life seems good. Alhamdullilah 🙂
And here’s the salmon recipe in the chef’s own words:
‘This recipe is very simple and quick. Make some cuts on the salmon (preferably wild caught) and rub salt and fresh lemon juice over it. Then sear it on high heat to form the crust (it keeps the moisture inside). After that, cook it covered at medium/low heat. When done, glaze it with a little bit of butter, and squeeze another splash of lemon juice over it. Finally, char it a bit to create a finished look.’
Oh and he likes to serve us some Pomegranate Juice on the side with our dinner! This one he recommends.
Enjoy! And thanks for stopping by!
